Sophia receives an intriguing call from a Canberra public servant, Kirkbride. Sophia asks Malik to come with her to Canberra to talk to him. Kirkbride is a conflicted man. He knows the murdered man, Angleton, was involved with something that happened in Indonesia but he wants the night to think, before sharing it.
Sophia and Malik have to spend the night in Canberra. Together. Will the budding attraction between them blossom into something more? Agent Skerritt warns Malik about getting too close to Sophia. She’s a piece of work.

| Episode 13 - Atonement |
Writers - Michael Miller and Kristen Dunphy |
When a truck driver is killed and a haul of fertiliser stolen, Detective Zane Malik and Agent Skerritt fear a possible terrorist attack. The race is on to find the men responsible before they unleash their fury on the world. Is this event connected with the car bomb which killed Agent Angleton?
An early suspect in the car bomb attack, Khoder, returns from Afghanistan and is questioned by customs at the airport. What was he doing over there? Was he raising money for a school, as he says? Or was he secretly visiting a training camp on the Pakistan border? Is he involved in the planned terror attack?
Malik searches the Khoder’s home and finds photos of him with Angleton. He interrogates Khoder once more. Did he kill Angleton? The story Malik hears stuns him. Khoder was in a tragedy involving the mass loss of human life. In Indonesia. And it involved Angleton. It seems that just before he died, Angleton had a crisis of conscience. But has the tragedy that happened to Khoder led to revenge and a terror attack? Khoder denies it. But is he speaking the truth, or just buying time?
As the NSO and Major Crime work together to find the plotters and prevent a catastrophe, Malik becomes increasingly desperate. He fears the damage Islamic extremists could do, physically and psychologically, to the Australian people. He knows he must do everything in his power to stop them, including using his connections in the Muslim community, and putting his life on the line, if necessary.
As he circles closer in to the terrorists, Malik discovers the truth behind the car bomb and who killed Angleton. But will that truth help Malik reach the terrorists in time to prevent another bomb attack?Top |
